Weaver's Coffee
Lunch was a selection of Kincaid’s most popular entrees, followed by dessert and coffee, donated by Weaver’s Coffee, Dreyer’s Ice Cream, and Mission Mini Cupcakes.
Al Gula, Jr., Foundation Chairman, welcomed the participants and thanked donors and volunteers for their overwhelming support. He then introduced the featured speaker, Dr. Hope Rugo, Professor of Medicine and Director of Breast Oncology and Clinical Trials Education at UCSF. Dr. Rugo had been Marilyn Gula’s oncologist, and she remembered Lynn to the group, many of whom had never met her. She then spoke about breast oncology research and some of the exciting new trials currently open or in development at the UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Cancer Center. Her open and informal style encouraged questions and interactive discussion to close the program.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication, commitment and enthusiastic support of committee members, our sponsors and friends for their tireless efforts, in particular:

The Foundation extends a special thank you to Kincaid’s, who in addition to partnering with us to host this event, will be donating $1 to the Foundation for every salmon entrée served during the month of October, and to Dr. Hope Rugo, a member of the Foundation’s medical advisory board, for sharing her time and perspective.
We’re pleased to announce Fight for a Cure generated $25,000 for Dr. Rugo’s research at UCSF and exceeded our expectations!
