Event Sponsors:

Saturday morning August 15, 2009, the Marilyn B. Gula Mountains of Hope Foundation will be hosting their first annual Walk for Hope benefit to raise money and awareness for the research and treatment of advanced breast cancer. The event will feature a (5k) non-competitive walk around zoo grounds to increase awareness and to raise funds. All proceeds from registrations, sponsorships and other donations will go directly to this cause. It promises to be a fun filled day for all ages. Bring 10 people and have those people bring 10 and so on and so on. Help us reach our goal of 1,000 participants in support of those who have advanced breast cancer. The Marilyn B Gula Mountains of Hope Foundation is very pleased to announce it’s first annual “ Walk for Hope” event at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The walk will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Event day registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. followed by the walk start at 9:00 a.m. Pre-registration guarantees an official “ Walk for Hope” T-shirt . All participants can enjoy the Zoo and Rain Forest all day on the 15th. Registration fee is as follows: $50 per family, $20 per adult, $10 ages 11-3, free for ages 2 and under. In addition to the registration fee it is hoped that participants will collect as many donations as they can and bring them to the Zoo on the day of the walk. Groups, schools, and companies are all encouraged to band together and support the foundation’s efforts to give all women a fighting chance. Every dollar raised will go directly to advanced breast cancer research in Northern Ohio. We look forward to you helping us make this event a success. Please spread the word to everyone you know. If you have any inquiries or need further information, please contact Kathryn Kuhnle at 216-287-8982 or Annette Paul at 216-789-0772. Hospitality Sponsors: T-Shirt Sponsors: The Foundation was established in 2003 by Marilyn B. Gula, who was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer in 1996. Although controlled by powerful drugs, the cancer continued to recur until the drugs were ineffective and she lost her battle with this insidious disease on July 26, 2006. Marilyn’s husband, Allen J. Gula, Jr., changed the foundation’s name to “The Marilyn B. Gula Mountains of Hope Foundation” to honor her memory and continue the work she began. The mission of the Marilyn B. Gula Mountains of Hope Foundation is dedicated to providing “hope” to women suffering with advanced breast cancer. Every dollar donated is applied directly to funding advanced breast cancer research and treatment.Betty Bowers, Father Bill Dickinson
